<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;mso-margin-top-alt:auto;">Can I participate in the Lighthouse-projects?<o:p></o:p></h3>SMEs are allowed to work with the Lighthouse-projects but they cannot get subsidy for this. The lighthouse-projects have already been determined in terms of content and partners as well as the subsidy that has already been distributed and determined for these partners. The added value for SMEs here is found in the transfer of knowledge.

<h3 class="MsoNormal" style="line-height:normal;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;mso-margin-top-alt:auto;">What is the TRL-Level which qualifies companies to apply?</h3>The goal of the project is to bring innovations from the prototype phase to the market, with a focus on projects scaling up from TRL 6 to TRL 8.&nbsp; This means scaling up from, preferably, a validated prototype to testing the technological operation in a pilotproduction and proving the set expectations have been met as well as the qualification and standards (certification). In addition the financial framework for mass production and launch have been defined and are ready for the next step outside the MNM-programme: Market introduction/ deployment phase.<h3>Can I form a sub-project with a knowledge institution as a partner?</h3>A knowledge institution can be part of a sub-project as a third party.&nbsp;But they can’t have the biggest share in the project since the project focuses on cross-border collaboration between SMEs. Therefor each consortium applying for a project must consist out of at least 1 Dutch and 1 German SME within the project region.<h3>Must the cross-border partner be a SME?</h3>The project focuses on cross-border collaboration between SMEs. Therefor each consortium applying for a project must consist out of at least 1 Dutch and 1 German SME within the project region. We use the European definition of a SME. A start-up can also be an SME and can therefor also participate and is therefore eligible for subsidy. Next to SMEs, non-SME companies and knowledge institution can be a partner in a sub-project, but they can’t have the biggest share in the project. They can have a supporting role towards the SMEs. At least 70% of the subsidiy must be paid to the SME's.<h3>What areas are involved in the project?</h3>Friesland, Groningen, Drenthe, Overijssel, Flevoland, Gelderland and the North-East of Noord-Brabant from the Dutch side and parts of North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony from the German-side. Unfortunately, Although mentioned on the map, Limburg is not included in the project area for this specific project. <h3>Which costs are eligible for subsidy?</h3>Only personnel costs are eligible for subsidy against a fixed rate with 40% overhead costs up to a maximum of €70.000 per project.&nbsp;<h3>How can the grant be divided between the SME's?</h3>When the project is done with two SME-partners, one partner cannot get more than 70% of the subsidy. When 2 SME's work together with a knowledge institution or a larger company, at least 70% of the subsidy must be paid to the SME's, and then 30% for a knowledge institution or larger company.&nbsp;But 40-40% and then 20% is also possible.When two SME's work together with a knowlegde institution or a larger company, the 70% for the SME's must also be divided equaly with a maximum of 70% for one SME.<h3>How is the hourly rate calculated?</h3>Within the project 3 performance groups have been defined. Each performance group has its own fixed rate. Over this fixed rate 40% overhead costs is calculated to cover other expenses. In addition to direct staff costs for the project, a flat rate of 40% of direct staff costs will be paid to the grant recipient to offset all other costs. These other costs include all costs in excess of staff costs, including the overhead costs. &nbsp;This lump sum will be paid, without the need for further proof, when settling staff costs.o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;PG2 – €58,50 per hour o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;PG3 – €41,50 per hour o&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;PG4 – €32,00 per hour &nbsp; Example:A projectleader PG2 works 400 hours for the project. The projectleader works together with an engineer PG3 that works 550 hours on the project. &nbsp;A project assistent PG4 helps them for 114 hours with the administration. The subsidy pays 50% of these hours according to the fixed rate + 40% overhead cost over this fixed rate and up to €70.000 per project!<figure class="table"><table class="MsoTableGrid" paid?</h3>There are 3 moments per year that costs can be claimed. &nbsp;Every participant must claim their costs at least ones a year, but all moments can be used for the personnel costs incurred up to then per whole months and from the moment the application is submitted to the steering committee. The last claim takes place after the end of the subproject. No costs will be pre-financed.&nbsp;

<h3>How is the Intellectual Property handled within the projects?</h3>Intellectual Property should be discussed and handled between the partners within the sub-projects. Neither Leadpartner of this project Oost NL nor the INTERREG-organisation will be involved.
