Manufacturing NextMaterials is closing the gap between the prototype stage and the market for SMEs in the manufacturing industry. Within this scope there is an open call for about 40 cross-border Scale-up projects in which approximately 60 SMEs from the border region Germany-Netherlands can participate.With the focus on high Technology Readiness Levels (TRL6-TRL8) the project connects with the target group of SMEs that face challenges in scaling up their existing prototype.&nbsp; The outputs and added value for SMEs are:<ul><li>The value of prototypes is clearly proven to the customer;</li><li>The industry standards and legal regulations of the neighboring country have been adhered to;</li><li>The risk of failure of test productions and switching to regular production (after the project) is limited;</li><li>Up to €70.000 subsidy per scale-up project.</li></ul>Next to the scale-up projects it is also possible to attend the workshop, trainings and/ or matchmaking sessions around various themes in order to overcome scale-up challenges. Attending these sessions is free.   Requirements for applying are:<ul><li>Cross-border cooperation with at least one Dutch and one German SME (the Partners within the project will support and facilitate in finding a SME from the neighboring market);</li><li>The project is focused on upscaling from prototype to test production;</li><li>The prototype is made with innovative materials such as, but not exclusively: - &nbsp;Smart materials in combination with electronics/sensors,&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; data and software&nbsp; - &nbsp;Advanced textile materials and fibers; - &nbsp;Composite materials and composite-hybrid materials&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; (different types of materials combined, using the best &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;properties of both components (e.g. composites with metals) - &nbsp;Power generation, distribution and storage materials&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; (PV, power transmission, battery components, etc.) - &nbsp;Optics - &nbsp;Ceramics - &nbsp;High-tech metals and coatings</li></ul>Subsidy SMEs that participate in the open call can receive up to 50% subsidy for their upscaling project, with a minimum of 15.000 euros and a maximum of 70.000 euros per project. This subsidy applies to personnel costs only. Personnel costs can be claimed according to a fixed rate with 40% overhead costs. Companies can participate in four subprojects. Twice as lead partner of the subproject and twice as partner. Disclaimer: Submitted projects must be approved by the INTERREG Steering Committee. Within the open call there are set time periods in which a project application can be handed in. These periods are based on the agenda of the Interreg Steering Committee to minimize the waiting time.<a href="https://www.mnm-interreg.eu/events/open-call-2" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow">The next and second call</a> will open on September 2 and will close on october 18.
